YouTube

I started posting to my YouTube channel in 2013. My first few videos were clarinet covers of pop songs using arrangements that I had found online. Eventually, I started making reaction videos to K-Pop Music Videos. I had been formally introduced to the genre by some friends in the fall of 2013 and had become a fan by 2014. A large part of my early YouTube videos was inspired by the content that I was also consuming on the platform -- largely centered on music. At some point I started also posting my vocal covers on my channel as well.

I learned basic video editing techniques like overlaying videos on videos and text on videos. In fact, any chance I had at school to make a video for a project, I would take it.

In 2024, I rebranded and revamped my YouTube channel with the banner "Shadowy Shenanigans". Shadow - a nickname I had given myself, and Shenanigans - as an alliteration follow up that alludes to a mix of content types that may be present.

Twitch

My journey on Twitch starts with my interest in League of Legends and eSports in 2016. These games would be streamed on Twitch and YouTube. I eventually found content creators who I had subscribed to on YouTube streaming on Twitch as well.

In 2021, during the pandemic, I decided to download OBS and Twitch stream on my Macbook Pro. It wasn't the most powerful laptop, so I was only able to play web games like Tetris and Minesweeper. Setting up my Twitch stream in OBS was a journey in figuring out the different views and scenes I wanted as well as learning how to work the different audio sources. I don't stream all that much these days, but given the opportunity, I would definitely be interested in getting back online.
